My specialties in therapy include trauma, anxiety and depression. It can be very difficult at times to know how to manage or deal with challenges in our lives. I believe every person has an inner strength that allows them to face life issues and learn new ways to accept or change these challenges. This work is completely collaborative from setting goals to hearing your feedback about progress and other possible treatments to use. I will assist you in finding healthier ways of thinking and actions to deal with difficulties. The first step to take is often the hardest but may be one of the important and meaningful step you make.
I am fully certified with EMDR which can be an excellent therapy for trauma. My overall style of therapy is strength-based and using methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Solution-oriented therapy. I work with adults from age 18 and older. Often through therapy you find a weakness becomes an unexpected strength.
I have been a counselor for over twenty-five years. I have worked with trauma issues for over 15 years. I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment to look at challenges and build on your strengths. I believe by offering respect, validation, listening and confidentiality one can engage in the healing process quickly.
